The script consultant's fee is determined by the duration and scope of the work, and is agreed upon in advance. Each collaboration is unique. If the script consultant contributes to writing the text, it’s important to agree in advance on any copyright considerations. Some of us invoice independently, while others are employed under Finnish labor standards. You may consult the Trade Union for Theatre and Media Finland (TEME) for compensation and salary guidelines (salary group 4).

We primarily work with text and support the screenwriter. We represent the viewer’s perspective, what emotions and thoughts the story provokes. We ask questions, identify ambiguities, and highlight what works. While we mainly work with screenwriters, we also collaborate with directors, documentary filmmakers, producers, financiers, broadcasters, and other industry professionals. We can also be hired to read and evaluate scripts and funding applications.
